My streaks: how they work
Streaks measure how many consecutive days you've completed the daily devotional. If today is day 15, it means you've gone 15 days in a row without missing one. It's a way to build a consistent devotional habit.
Where to see your streak
Your streak counter appears in two places:
- At the top of
/devocional: just before you start the day's reading. - In your profile (
/en/perfil): in the "Activity and achievements" section.
What counts as a "completed devotional"
For the day to count, you need to open the devotional and read it to the end. The system registers when you reach the last paragraph; just opening the page isn't enough. Common on slow devices or unstable connections: if the page didn't load properly, refresh and try again.
When the streak breaks
The streak breaks if you let a full day go by without completing the devotional. The "day" is measured by your local time (00:00 to 23:59). If it's 11:55 pm and you still haven't read it, you still have five minutes.
Once broken, the counter resets to zero. Previous days aren't lost — they're still reflected in your activity history, but the active streak starts from the next day you complete the devotional.
The grace day
If you have 7 or more days in an active streak, you're entitled to a grace day every 7 days. This means that if for some reason you can't read the devotional that day, the streak doesn't break automatically — the system protects it for an extra 24 hours.
Grace day rules:
- It applies automatically: you don't need to activate it yourself.
- It only applies once per every 7-day block.
- The next day you must complete the devotional normally to continue the streak.
The grace day is meant for travel, emergencies, or very busy days. It doesn't work on two consecutive days.
Achievements related to streaks
Keeping your streak active unlocks special achievements. Some key milestones:
