Customize my avatar
On EncuentraIglesias you don't upload your own profile photo — you choose an avatar from our catalog. There are dozens of Christian-themed illustrations so you can find one that represents you.
How to change your avatar
- Go to
/en/avatares(or from/en/perfil→ Edit avatar). - Browse the catalog. Available ones appear in color; locked ones appear in gray with a padlock.
- Click the avatar you want.
- Done: the change takes effect immediately across your profile and all your feed posts.
You can change your avatar as many times as you want, with no cost or limit.
Locked avatars
Some catalog avatars are exclusive: they're only unlocked by earning a specific achievement. Hovering over (or pressing and holding on mobile) a locked avatar shows you which achievement you need to unlock it.
For example:
- Certain "prayer warrior" avatars unlock when you earn the Constancia achievement (100 consecutive days of devotional).
- Special holiday avatars unlock with exploration or community achievements.

Why we don't allow personal photos
The closed catalog is a deliberate design decision with two main reasons:
Privacy: many of our users prefer to keep their identity discreet in online faith spaces. An illustrated avatar protects you without you having to think about it.
Community protection: without real photos, risks associated with inappropriate images, identity impersonation, or the inadvertent exposure of minors who may use the platform with their families are eliminated.
The catalog is updated periodically with new designs, including seasonal and special avatars tied to future achievements.
