Setting your language and country

EncuentraIglesias serves people in 14 countries and 7 languages. The combination of language and country affects what you see, so it's worth setting them up correctly from the start.

What changes based on your country

  • Directory: search results prioritize churches in your country.
  • Store: prices are shown in local currency and the payment methods available in your region appear (some local methods only show up for specific countries).
  • Date and time formats: adapt to local conventions.

What changes based on your language

Your language controls the site's text: menus, blog articles, the daily devotional, and system messages. Available languages are Latin American Spanish, Spain Spanish, English, German, French, Italian, and Portuguese.

How to change language and country

  1. Open the main menu (menu icon in the top corner or the navigation bar).
  2. Find the language/country selector — it's usually shown as a flag or the current language name.
  3. Choose your language and, if applicable, your country.
  4. The site reloads with the new settings.

If you're signed in, the preference is saved to your profile for future visits. If you're browsing without an account, the site saves the preference in your browser as long as you're on the same device.

The site detected my country or language incorrectly

The site tries to detect your location automatically when you first visit. This works well in general, but it can fail if you use a VPN, if your internet provider's address is registered in another country, or if you simply prefer a different experience from your actual location.

To correct it, follow the same selector steps described above. A manual change always takes priority over automatic detection.

Still not working?

If the selector doesn't appear or the change won't save, write to us through /contact and the EncuentraIglesias team will look into it.
