How to edit a church's information (hours, address, photos)

A church's details can become outdated: service times change, they move to a new address, they update their website. Anyone can suggest a correction, even if they're not a member of that congregation.

How to access the correction form

  1. Open the church listing you want to correct.
  2. Find the "Suggest correction" button — it's at the bottom of the listing, before the comments.
  3. Click it. A form opens with the current fields pre-filled.
  4. Modify only what is incorrect or out of date.
  5. In the "Reason" field, write a brief sentence explaining why you're proposing the change (e.g., "the schedule changed in January").
  6. Submit the form.

You can also go directly to /editar-iglesia/{slug} if you know the listing's slug.

What you can correct

The form lets you edit:

  • Church name
  • Address (street, neighborhood, city)
  • Service times
  • Phone and website
  • Description
  • Photos (add new ones; to remove inappropriate photos use the report button)
  • Denomination (if incorrectly classified)

How the review works

Corrections aren't published immediately. The EncuentraIglesias team reviews them, usually within 1 to 5 business days. If the correction is clear and makes sense, it's applied without further ado. In cases where the information is uncertain or contradictory, we may ask you for more context.

You won't receive an automatic notification when the change is applied, but you can revisit the listing a few days later to check.

Is the information very outdated or clearly wrong?

If the church has closed, moved entirely, or has information that could confuse or harm visitors, you can also use the report button. Read /en/help/articulo/iglesias/reportar-iglesia to understand the difference between "suggest a correction" and "report".

Was your correction rejected without explanation?

Write to us from /contact with the church name and the details of the change you tried to make.
