Delete my account and my data
You have the right to request the deletion of your account and the personal data associated with it. This article explains how to do it, what gets deleted, and what happens with certain records that must be kept for legal reasons.
How to request deletion
Option 1 — From your profile:
- Sign in and go to
/en/perfil. - Scroll to the Account zone section.
- Click Request account deletion.
- Confirm your decision by typing your email when the system prompts you.
- You'll receive an email confirming that the request was received.
Option 2 — Via direct contact:
If you can't access your account, write to us at /contact with the email you registered with and request deletion. We'll ask you to verify your identity before proceeding.
What gets deleted
When we process your request:
- Your complete profile (name, bio, country, avatar, year of conversion).
- All your posts and comments in the community feed.
- Your sign-in credentials (email or Google link).
- Your language, country, and currency preferences.
What is kept (anonymized)
If you made purchases in the downloadable digital products store, the record of those transactions must be kept for tax and accounting obligations. However, it is completely unlinked from your identity: the record becomes anonymous and contains no name, email, or any data that could identify you.
Processing time
Deletion can take up to 30 calendar days from when we confirm the request. During that period your account is deactivated and not visible to other users. When the process is complete you'll receive a confirmation email.
This action is irreversible
Once deletion is complete, it's not possible to recover your account, your posts, or any other data. If you want to use EI again in the future, you'll need to create a new account from scratch.
If you're unsure before making the decision, you can also simply stop using the platform — there are no recurring charges for having an inactive account.
