Rules for comments in the feed

Comments are how you respond directly to another member's post. They work a bit differently from posts in a few important ways — here's what applies and what doesn't.

Technical differences from posts

Post Comment
Max length 80–600 characters 200 characters
Available types 5 (prayer, testimony, praise, verse, question) No type
Edit after publishing No No
Delete No Yes, you can delete your own

The 200-character limit is intentional: comments are for brief reactions and encouragement, not essays. If you have a lot to say, publish it as your own post.

Neither posts nor comments can be edited once sent — review carefully before you publish.

Content rules

The same rules that apply to posts apply to comments:

  • No external links. None at all: YouTube, social media, websites.
  • No contact information. No phone numbers, emails, or social handles.
  • No requests for money. Neither direct nor indirect.
  • No coordinating offline. Phrases like "I'll call you separately" or "message me on WhatsApp" are not allowed.
  • Respectful tone. You can disagree; you cannot attack the person.

The system automatically reviews comments before they go live. If your comment doesn't appear right away, see [/en/help/articulo/comunidad/post-bloqueado].

Best practices

Comment to encourage, not to correct. If someone shares a prayer or a testimony, the ideal comment is an "amen," a word of encouragement, or a prayer in response. The community feed is not the place for public theological debates.

Have your own story? Post your own update. If reading someone else's testimony makes you want to share yours, create a new post of type "testimony" in /en/feed. Using someone else's thread to tell your own long story can feel intrusive.

One comment per post. If you want to add something, mentally edit your comment before you send it — remember you won't be able to change it afterward. Commenting multiple times in a row on the same post is considered spam.

If you see something that's not right

If you find a comment that breaks these rules, use the report button next to that comment. More info at [/en/help/articulo/comunidad/reportar-publicacion].

The EncuentraIglesias team reviews reports and can remove comments or restrict accounts depending on the severity.
