In a meeting marked by fraternity and a common desire to serve, representatives of the Pontifical Foundation Aid to the Church in Need (ACN) visited the headquarters of the Canção Nova Community in Cachoeira Paulista, in the interior of São Paulo. This visit, much more than a simple protocol, was a moment of sharing and mutual learning, where hearts united around the same purpose: to proclaim the Good News of Jesus Christ to the world. In a time when communion between different expressions of faith is so necessary, gestures like this renew our hope and remind us that we are all members of one Body.

Shared Mission: Aid to the Church in Need Leaders Experience Canção Nova's Ministry

The delegation was received with the warm hospitality characteristic of the community, beginning a day of immersion in the various fronts of work that make up Canção Nova's mission. From communication, which brings the Word through digital and television media, to the social and educational projects that transform lives, visitors were able to witness firsthand the dynamism of evangelizing action. As the letter to the Ephesians teaches us,

"There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called to one hope when you were called; one Lord, one faith, one baptism"
(Ephesians 4:4-5, NIV). This spirit of unity was the tone that guided the entire meeting.

Understanding the Heart of the Mission

The visit itinerary included stops at fundamental sectors that support Canção Nova's work. At the Sanctuary of the Father of Mercies, a place of deep spirituality and welcome, ACN directors were able to understand the contemplative dimension that nourishes all missionary action. It is in the silence of adoration and the strength of prayer that missionaries find grace for service. Visiting this sacred space was an invitation to remember that all evangelization work must spring from a heart in intimacy with God.

Next, the focus turned to communication and education areas. Canção Nova, known for its prominent presence in Catholic media, demonstrated how it uses contemporary tools to build bridges of faith. From television productions to social media content, each initiative seeks to fulfill the missionary mandate to go and make disciples. Meanwhile, social and educational projects show concrete commitment to those most in need, materializing Christ's love in tangible gestures. This integration between proclamation and charity reflects the wholeness of the Christian message.

Dialogue and Sharing of Experiences

One of the richest moments of the meeting was the frank and open dialogue between visitors and community leaders. Franz Guillen Gross, Luis Daniel Vildoso Escalante, and Taiana Vilela de Moura Monteiro Martins, representatives of ACN, also shared the initiatives and challenges faced by the pontifical foundation in its support of churches suffering persecution or difficulties around the world. This exchange of experiences strengthens the network of support and solidarity within the Church, showing that although contexts may differ, the faith that moves us is the same.

This exchange occurred at a significant time, as the ACN delegation was in Brazil to participate in the 62nd General Assembly of the National Conference of Bishops of Brazil (CNBB). The visit to Canção Nova was therefore part of a broader journey of encounter with the Church in Brazil, its pastors, and its vibrant communities. It is a sign of how local and global initiatives can connect and mutually enrich each other, building a more visible and effective communion.

The Role of Communion in Contemporary Evangelization

In an ecclesial landscape experiencing the transition from the pontificate of the beloved Pope Francis, who passed away in April 2025, to the new Petrine ministry of Pope León XIV, elected in May of the same year, the importance of communion stands out even more. Pope Francis
