On June 13, 2026, the Ducal Castle of Monte San Giovanni Campano will become a place of encounter and generosity. At 8:30 PM, a charity gala dinner will be held to support the people of southern Lebanon, who have endured years of hardship. This is not merely a social event, but a concrete act of Christian love, echoing Jesus' call: “Love your neighbor as yourself” (Matthew 22:39).
The atmosphere will be unique, framed by the historic castle whose ancient walls tell stories of centuries past. But the true story written that evening will be one of solidarity: every dish served, every toast, every smile will be a brick to rebuild hope in a wounded land.
Who Is Organizing the Evening
Jus et Pax “S. e M. Sera”: A Culture of Peace
The association Jus et Pax, named after the holy martyrs S. and M. Sera, has long been committed to promoting peace and international cooperation. Its name evokes the principles of justice and peace at the heart of the Gospel: “Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God” (Matthew 5:9). The association works to spread a culture centered on the dignity of every person, especially the weakest.
Royal Association of Knights and Ladies of the Portuguese House
This ancient association, keeper of historical traditions, combines the charm of chivalry with a commitment to solidarity. Its members, from various parts of Europe, uphold an ideal of service rooted in the Christian faith. As Saint Paul reminds us: “Faith works through love” (Galatians 5:6). Their presence at the gala dinner is a tangible sign of how tradition can be placed at the service of the common good.
The Charitable Cause: Helping Southern Lebanon
The heart of the event is fundraising for the populations of southern Lebanon. This region has long suffered from conflict and instability, leaving many families in extreme vulnerability. The funds raised will be used to purchase essential goods such as food and drinking water, and to provide vital medical equipment. Additionally, local medical facilities, often lacking adequate resources to face emergencies, will be supported.
The aid recipient will be the Center for Oriental Strategic Monitoring (COSMO), an organization operating directly in Lebanese territory. COSMO has already launched concrete assistance projects, and this collaboration will enhance existing interventions. As Christians, we are called to be “the light of the world” (Matthew 5:14), bringing relief to those living in the darkness of suffering.
Evening Program
The evening will begin with a welcome moment, during which guests can admire the castle's splendid halls. This will be followed by a gala dinner prepared by renowned chefs, featuring dishes that blend local tradition and innovation. Each course will be paired with selected wines, in an atmosphere of elegance and conviviality.
During dinner, representatives from the organizing associations and COSMO will speak, illustrating ongoing projects and the importance of the support received. There will also be musical entertainment with songs celebrating peace and brotherhood. The evening will conclude with a charity auction, where guests can bid on artworks and unique items, further contributing to the fundraising.
How to Participate and Contribute
Participation in the gala dinner is by invitation, but it is also possible to support the cause through direct donations. For information, contact the organizers via official channels. Every contribution, large or small, makes a difference. As we read in Scripture: “It is more blessed to give than to receive” (Acts 20:35).
