On April 28, 2026, more than 300 people connected via Zoom for a prayer gathering organized by Spain We Pray for You (EOxT) and the Prayer Commission of FEREDE. Believers from different regions of Spain, as well as from other countries, gathered in this virtual space to intercede for the nation. The meeting, which began at 8:30 PM, was marked by an atmosphere of unity and dependence on God.

Over 300 Christians Unite in Virtual Prayer for Spain

The gathering included moments of welcome, worship, a devotional, times of personal confession, and several blocks of prayer. Participants prayed for the unity and revival of the church in Spain, the evangelization of the country, the authorities, the family, and evangelical institutions. It was a time to seek God's face together, recognizing that only He can transform a nation.

Praying for the Nation: A Biblical Mandate

Prayer for the homeland is not just a suggestion but a call found in Scripture. In 1 Timothy 2:1-2, the apostle Paul urges: "I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people— for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness" (NIV). This verse reminds us that praying for our leaders and for society is a priority for every believer.

During the meeting, the importance of interceding for authorities was highlighted, asking for wisdom and justice for those who make decisions. Prayer was also offered for the family as the fundamental unit of society, and for evangelical entities, that they may be light in the midst of difficulties.

"If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land." — 2 Chronicles 7:14 (NIV)

This passage was central to the devotional reflection, encouraging participants to humble themselves and cry out for genuine revival that transforms Spain.

The Power of Group Prayer

One of the most significant moments was prayer in small groups, where attendees could share burdens and pray for one another. The dynamic allowed for active participation, strengthening bonds among believers who, though separated by distance, were united in Spirit. As Matthew 18:20 says: "For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them" (NIV).

The meeting also served as a preview of an even larger event: the national in-person gathering on June 13, 2026. Under the theme "Your will be done," based on Matthew 6:10, this gathering will take place in every provincial capital, on the islands, and in the autonomous cities of Ceuta and Melilla. It will be a strategic time of prayer for the nation, where believers will physically congregate to intercede for Spain.

A Call to Unity

The unity of the church was a recurring theme throughout the night. In a divided world, joint prayer is a powerful testimony that, in Christ, we are one. Jesus prayed for this unity in John 17:21: "that all of them may be one, Father, just as you are in me and I am in you. May they also be in us so that the world may believe that you have sent me" (NIV).

The organizers expressed gratitude for the participants' response and encouraged continued prayer without ceasing. "Being light in the midst of society" was the renewed commitment, remembering that prayer is not a passive act but an active force that can change realities.

Preparing for June 13

The June 13 gathering is an opportunity for every believer in Spain to unite in one spirit. If you cannot attend in person, you can join in prayer from home. We invite you to mark this date on your calendar and prepare your heart. Spain needs intercessors who, like the 300 who met online, are willing to cry out for their nation. Will you be one of them?
